In this thread you will be able to express your feelings about your LFS.
What is good about it and what is bad about it?

My LFS is brilliant it will order fish for you it has i estimate 100 FW and 30 SW tanks, a huge product range including loads of food and tanks. It also has a large outdoor pond section. But what I don't like about them is the way they treat the SFF they keep em in plastic beer cups and when they display them its even worse they are in a little bowl that is smaller than my hand. oh yeah they got about 20 cold water tanks too:grinyes: and they are really helpful and will warnm you if you are doing something wrong.

so what do you think about your LFS?

my lfs needs more selection and better people to educate newbies

i love my lfs!! they are new, not even a year old yet. so i bet they will expnd soon, because buisness is great!!! they sell live microsword carpet at $30 a squar foot. whenever they want something out because they have to many, or they want to redo that tank, they don't just nock 10 or 20 percent off, they make them cheap as free! I bought a 8" texas/managuense (very nice one, too), a red devil and several others for a nickle! an oscar over a foot, perfect health for $1!!! their stock is very nice, but usualli community. dan, said he wants the aggresive cichlids to have a larger tank, to be more comfortable, al though he does carry younger africans, and convicts. it is a common stock, were you would not find any tigris cats, fw rays and what you are lucky to get, but they always have things that cach my atintion, right now, that is a softshell turtle, with complete sut up, high power canister filter kepping it cristal clear(the tank is a tank desined for a turtle, its a 20L a thind of the way full, yet the filter is rated for a 55 minimum:grinyes: ) for $200, 2-3" tiger shovelnose, for $20, and a few things i am forgetting at the moment.

you guys got some cool LFSs, I forgot to say that my LFS will get you a cup of tea lol they are cool when I'm old enough I'm thinking of getting a part time weekend job there. Can always do with money... with a job that would probabley more money to use lol especially when most stuff i get is paid for me lol.

My mates shop took on a Saturday boy he ends up spending all his money in there. And he makes a good cup of tea:naughty:

my LFS is TINY, but what I like is they always have a couple of oodballs. I am into oddballs and honestly, this was the first store I had been to that regularly had something "differenct". They cut me good deals usually on stuff, they generally have healthy fish, and they have really helped me out more than once with situations (I had no hospital tank... they took one of my fish an treated it in their hospital tank for 3 weeks). I go now beef with them... I try to support them whenever I can.

There are 2 LFS I frequent, and 1 that just moved locations, and 1 that I don't like as much. The first one is in moscow, it has ok fish, nothing out of the ordinary, but has an awesome selection on fish tanks, and supplies. Got a 55 gal for $75, and a tetratec 300 filter for 20 bucks. What I don't like is that the fish mortality rate is pretty high from this place, so I generally don't buy any expensive fish from them.

The other that is in moscow is just being setup.

In pullman 10 minute drive, there is an all FW store. They have great waterquality, and good fish, nothing special though. They have a silver aro on display, that is probably a good 16" right now in a 150gal, footprint 72x18, and that will be for life. What I don't like about the store is they don't bring in exotic plecos, and as many know that is my main thing. Love my plecos to death!

In lewiston, 30 minute drive, there is one of the best stores I have ever been too. This place has everything from the monsters in there monster tank, to koi already at the 18" mark. They constantly have a few types of exotic plecos, they even had the Asian spot plecos, and three or four types of temmincki plecos. They brought in, probably cause they new I would buy them, and acanthicus adonis, and an L330 Spotted royal pleco. They have arowana for sale quite often, and this is where I got my little guys. They special order for me. There water params are perfect. They have coldwater tanks. Huge plant selection, of plants that actually belong in water, not like petco/petsmart that sell plants that need water, but not to be submersed and will die. A piranha display tank with a skeleton of a person as an ornament. He splits his tanks by aggressiveness. They have hundred of pieces of malaysian wood, ranging in size from over 2 feet long by 2 feet tall, to little ones that could fit into a betta bowl at your local walmart. The owner owns the product label for target aquameds, which has both meds and food for aquarium use. Very knowledgable, and helpful. This store is awesome, the only thing I don't like about it is that they need to expand, they have more than enough money, they just don't have the space to house all the stuff they have now.

All in all I make the 30 minute drive to get the best our area has to offer. Sorry miles, an hour and a half is too much to drive every couple weeks. Haha but when your new fish room is done count on me being there.

mine are nice. Good selection of oddballs. Fish are always in good condition.

Price is a killer though.

They were selling a 7 inch crenicichla johanna for 60 bucks. I laughed and walked right out when I saw that, but otherwise, really nice. :)
