Like the title says, what kind of fish do you keep with discus? I have a few discus in my 75gal tank and wanted to see what kinds of other fish i could add.
Thanks

I don't think that a few discus is enough. they are very social fish and do best in groups of 6 of more. 2 or 3 will often lead to aggression. that being said, I have 8 wild discus with 25 lemon tetras, 4 festivum's, and 1 bn pleco.

You want to go for peaceful fish that will tolerate the heat that discus like. Small, peaceful cichlids like rams are a good choice. You can also do things like rummynose tetras.

yeah i wanted to get rams but wasn't sure if they were too aggressive how about barbs or danios?

I'm not sure on the temperature requirement for danios. Most barbs would probably be too nippy and boisterous for a discus tank.

Rams are good. Mine is a little nippy at time. I also have a festivum with mine and he does great swimming around with the discus and never bothers them. The perfect tank mate. But not all are as peacful as mine. I had another that would nip at the discus at times but this one I have is much better.

Tetras can be good takemates and bn plecos. Only corys that like high heat are good too. But most corys do not do well in a hot discus tank.

I keep 5 health all over 3.5 inch discus with two 14 inch black aros. Gar motoro ray. Loachs. And a royal clown knife. Check out my threads

I keep mine with a couple bichirs, a shoal of clown loaches, a dwarf giraffe cat, a red severum, a half blind BP, a brown knife, BGK, a Flagtail, and some assorted plecs. Not shy whatsoever, healthy, and love to be in the middle of everyone during feeding.
