i was just wondering if anyone keeps the NGT in brackish water
i have had my NGT for close to 5yrs and have always kept him in fresh water

i know some of the info on the net about NGT says they should be kept in brackish water so i would like to know if anyone actualy keeps them in brackish water

in the 5yrs i have had my NGT it has never got sick, feeds great and gives all my other tigers a good run for their mony when fightring

so i would say he is in the best possable health and cant see how he would benefit from brackish water

i know some say they are ok in fresh water but do better in brackish but i cant see how it chould do any better

i know some also say they cant stay in fresh water long term well as far as im conserned 5yrs is long term

both of mine were in pure fresh water ocasional lil bit of aquarium salt for stress or battle wounds was all I ever added

its just strange i dont know anyone who keeps NGT in brackish water

to tell the truth i think they would look a bit out of place in a brackish tank with scats monos and archers were as a silver tiger would look right at home

I agree silver dats don't look right to me in a fresh tank with other dats... I don't think anybody on here keeps there brackish I know of some members adding some salt to there dat tanks but not enough to make it close to brackish

I keep my NGT and silvers in pretty much fresh water with salt added. Not nearly close to brackish conditions though. I also keep crushed coral in two of the filters as a buffer for the pH.

my ngt pure in pure fresh wif stingray. np.. its eating.. but not a whole lot. jus 2 shrimps a day.
