What do you mean by stable??

Hey guys.
So lately ive been hearing and seeing the word "stable" after talking about a Datnoid. If anyone can explain to me what that means i would gladly appreciate it.

stable = clear contrast between base color (usually yellow) and the black bars. A perfect looking specimen

unstable = dats are brownish in color and stripes are usually washed out

dats can turn from stable to unstable at any time and also vice versa. noone is 100% sure of the cause. my dat changes stable/unstable all the time. there are many threads discussing this... check out the datnoids section.
