What do you think about this pump?

I spoke with someone from Chicago Electric and they said that the pump is sealed, not oil filled, but they said its not recommended for filteration use because it picks up large objects. I dont see large particles being a problem in a wet/dry set up.

What do you think? Safe to use in my wet/dry?

no those pumps arent designed for continuous duty and typically chicago electric products are very reliable, i certainly wouldnt trust my fish to it.

I have a hot tub that is temporarily out of order... it is equipped with a 2HP external pump... dont really know much else about it. I can check in the morning on the model and specs...

but having run chlorinated/treated water at one time, could I use it on my wet/dry and what steps would i have to take to do so?
