Just got my 95gallon set up with sand this weekend! I posted earlier this week and decided on some severums, a couple loaces, and a few mid-sized cichlid like a convict or something. Was considering an eel but idk about that. What do you all think about this? any suggestions or changes will be greatly appreciated

A lot of live plants would go really nice with the sand. Also, what kind of loaches are you planning to get? No matter what species, you might want to get more than a couple.

convicts are pretty aggressive for their size and will probably pick on severums and other mid-size cichlids... i would go with 2-4: Severums (there are different colors), firemouths, keyhole, and or other larger of the acara family like paraguay mouthbrooders get like 7 inches

Agree, go with the severums and some acaras, perhaps Krobia or common blue acaras. As for eels, maybe one of the smaller spiny eels, but I'll wait for the eel experts to chime in

yeah theres also a bottom feeding cichlid i forgot its name, but its peaceful and gets 7"... i think its like the red dirt feeder or soemthing like that..

Go with around 3-4 severums (very likely to pair up then) and a firemouth or two about 4-5 clown loaches and some nice plants.

i think that squared man was talking about a pike cichlid they get like 7in but that would be a good one along with the severums the firemouth and the clown loaches and plants would look good

wow thanks for all of the feedback. It would be awsome ot get paired up severums (is ther eanyway to tell) and are there any other cool types of bottom feeders that yall would recommend? Also to cycle the tank i used the water treament but then just took a 5 gallon bucket fool of water fro ,my 46g aquarium and put it in the 95. you think that will be ok for a cycle?

no water doesnt house GB(good bacteria) you need either to do it the long way (just run the tank for a couple weeks with either cheapie fish or a piece of food) or you can take gravel (a fair amount) and put in your tank but mainly if you have any bio-synthetic materials in your other tank, put that in your new tank. like BIO-wheels or sponges or whatnot of the like. water doesnt really mean anything if you have no Good bacteria

oh ok cool...so my 46g filter has two spongess...could i just take one out for a few days and put it in the 95 g tank or would i have to put it in one of hte 95g filters (diff kind)...i got a baby jag for like 3 bucks...would he be a good fish to test and get bacteria in the water
