I have used ADA soil. The light is said to be a twin PL lamp 36 watts and a kelvin range of 10000-10500 range. I keep the lights on for about 8-12 hrs per day. As you can see the plants are starting to lose colour. It doesnt go brown but loses its vivid green colour. The plants are now in light green colour. Even the red plant , which i saw one yesterday in a fish shop is actually in bright red colour. Why is this happening.? What am i doing wrong.? They said i dont have to add ferts as im using ADA. and also the stems are getting long and the leaves are far apart which is really unattractive. The carpet plants which you see here doesnt seem to spread which is really surprising. Can someone please explain to me what is happening and what do i need to change..??
PS--> i have co2 in my tank. Some type of electrical thing. I dont think it works so i switched it to a DIY method just yesterday

Co2 and high lighting needs fertz man. Up your wc, keep lights on for 8 hours, 2/3 dose seachem flourish comprehensive and it should get better. Plus your running high color spectrums, also the bulbs lose their ability to grow plants after 9-12months.

Try 6000k-8000k or atleast 1 6500k and leave the other 10000k

This is a guess on my behalf, but coz you said the plants are basically growing tall with leaves spread far apart, means that your plants are in need of more ferts to help them grow properly...

I would also cut back on the lighting period, since 12 hours is a long time for a high-light planted tank... i think i have my lights on at most about 6-8 hours a day on a timer...

So i would say try adjusting those things first and see if you see any improvement...

Agreed, cut back the lighting period to 8 hours. You want to avoid high light during the first month of your set up, so you could disconnect a bulb for 3-4 weeks whilst your tank and plants mature. This way you will avoid algae outbreaks.
