I put this in this section because I trust you guys the most and know I can get a good input on the subject.

So, I am thinking about getting back into fishkeeping this spring. I have a few stocking ideas for the tank.

The tank will start out as a 75 or 90 gallon whichever I find the best deal on. This will for sure be a temporary tank. I will be upgrading to at least a 300 gallon in less than a year. As i still have all the supplies i need to build my tank except a few things here and there.

Possible stock 1:
1: 2-4 kelberi peacock bass
2: 1 Polypterus Endlicheri Congicus
3: 2 Polypterus Lapridei
4: Maybe vulture catfish

Possible stock 2:
1: Black ghost knife
2: Fire eel
3: Polypterus Ansorgii
4: open for ideas (ODOE pike or some type of catfish

I think stock option #1 would work with the 300 gallon upgrade.

I just worry about it not being enough movement in the tank and it end up being boring i was thinking of a school of larger charcins with that stock as well to keep things moving.

thoughts?

Stock 1 may need a bigger tank due to the pbass. 2-4 pbass end up with pbass getting bullied. Adding some sidebar sd’s will help with movement. Just my thought.

Stock 2 should be fine but the fire eel is a problem cause of size. Consider other eels in the mastacembelus family. The eel and bgk will need to be large or bought first to let grow out. Lower jaws poly will grow quicker than the other fish.

I figured with how small kelbri they would have plenty of room in a 7*3 tank? or maybe a 6*4

They will hit the 20 inch mark but to avoid bullying a good amount of space is needed. I know the pbass guys have always recommend big space. Can always post in the pbass section and get an opinion.

I may reconsider them or do just one. Thats what i get for going with the first thing i saw. What i read is they only get 12-14" max but after a little digging that doesnt seem to be true but i have also read that they are extremely passive though.

Yea...unless they are sb most pbass will hit 20in except temensis which get way bigger.

Yeah, not a Pbass expert by any means. I guess its back to the drawing board lol. I may consider just doing one though.
