Just set up a 125 salt! Using a 55 gallon aquarium as my filter, two bioball towers. Just looking for a very nice skimmer to finish it off. I plan for the tank to be fish only.

Thanks in advance,
Justin

Well there are supposed to be a lot of good skimmers.
Just all in what you want to spend and how much space you have left over.

i've heard good things about the coralife 125, but as said there are many different skimmers out there for differenct prices and tank sizes..

in sump/externaly plumbed, aquaC ev series.

HOB coralife 125, aquac remora series. The coralifes are nice because there cheap and rather efficient in all honesty. Once dialed in correctly and making some mods if applicable, most skimmers become pretty efficient.

First, i would ditch the bio balls because they are a detritus trap and will be a nitrate factor down the road. Your main source of filtration is going to be your live rock. As for the skimmer if you want the best then you want a bubble king skimmer. There is no better skimmer on the market right now, its a solid skimmer and uses the red dragon pump.

Did you see the mod someone did to the MSX, actually it was more a remake of it. Copied it on a large scale i think. I cant remember what thread it was in, but it was somewhere on reefcentral.com i think. Ill do some searching around. Anyways, this guy had it on a 500 gallon or something, and it was about 3 feet tall.

Also, wouldnt you like to have this mother of all skimmers in your basement??

now thats gotta be a stinky room!
asm skimmers are good for their price, and i hear pretty good reviews on the bubble-magus skimmers that are starting to trickle over from overseas. reef octopus are good.

If money is no object then Bubble King or Deltec are considered to be on the really high end. If you are looking into high quality but at a reasonable price then I suggest Warner Marine. For great performance at a great price I would suggest Euro Reef.
