On my way home, I found this stand, what do you think it is use for? Aquarium? a TV? anything? Do you think it is safe to put a 50G tank (36" x 18" x 18") on top of it? The surface area is measured 37" across and 19" width.

its my experience that most prefab aquarium stands have a little more gripper surface and don't have back panels (just my experience) i wouldn't say a tv stand because of the empty space in the middle is more likely to show wiring but test its wait holding capability before you put any thing of value on it and if it does good find should clean up nice
if you play hockey, throw your gear on minus the skates, jump on top of that thing and jump a few times if it still standing then it is good for an aquarium or atleast it was good for an aquarium...
