This guy was sold to me as a "monkey face fh" at Preuss, a lfs in my area. It was around 1/2" when I bought for $6 (talked the manager down from $10)and is now pushing 7". He has been a dull looking fella until recently and is now showing pearls and red is coming through. Just wondering if anyone out there might want to guess what was crossed to get this fish. I see a hint of Synspylum in him and he has the red eyes of a fh. So I'm thinking Syn x zz. I searched monkey face fh and I could only wish this guy could "molt" into what I saw in the search results! The other fish pictured is a sexy girlfriend I put him in with. She's usually lighter but she is showing her breeding colors hence the white unfertilized eggs on the rock.
