What are your predcitions on what would happen? Would rare fish be considered 'rare' if they are mass produced? Would it be easier on our wallets?

wow..i had a dream about this last night..except Li was the one cloning the fish...LOL

i had a midas that died and i sent him a scale for DNA, and the cloned fish fell out of the ceiling into the tank..then i started asking him for different clones(lungfish, dats and an armatus LOL)

i don't agree with cloning anything though..

I only agree with cloning for medical purposes. I could see Li cloning fish though.

it would be possible...
Not many people would be overly interested in clones I don't think.

It could be done but the process is VERY expencive so I can't see it ever bieng a viable commercial success. Prices would have to go UP not down.

my guess is that cloning fish and other animals will one day be the only way to bring some species back from extinction.

There will most likely never be a reason to clone fish on a large scale.

Lets face it, everything is done for money. There is not a good enough economic reason to clone fish on a large scale. The biggest $$ in fish is obviously for food purposes. It is easy enough to harvest wild fish and to farm other fish that there would be no use for cloneing.

Cloning no...but I CAN see genetic manipulation sneeking into the hobby down the line...

If you don't think so then concider how many man made Hybrids are already for sale...they sell well I might add because they are new and differant.

So a lab created pair of fish with attributes people would like and then natural breeding from then on? I'd be surprised if someones not working on this already....

Right Li?

LMAO
