It looks like it would hold alot of media and has a good flow rate. I imagine the actual flow rate would be more like 1800-2000lph. Would this be a crazy waste of money or worth a shot?

Honestly, if you are going to spend $200 on a canister filter, get a fluval fx5.

Im in australia lol there $499 at a good price on ebay. In the shops like $650+
