So I moved my marine tank from one stand to a new stand in the wall, I left the eel in the tank and drained it to about 2" of water in the tank. I then moved the tank into the wall, I filled it up only to find I didn't have it moved far enough back and had to drain it again twice in about 4 days. I then covered the tanks I have two of them in this wall and sanded the joint compound on the wall, I noticed the eel acting unusual so I did a 80% water change thinking maybe water got contaminated any way. So this was 3 times the tank was drained down to 2" and well then the eel died yesterday.
So here is the question one more of morality rather then what happened. I have a feather duster in the tank and it still seems okay so I don't know if there is something in the water or if the eel was just stressed to death. So I bought 3 of the cheapest marine fish I could find acclimated them and put them in the tank. I did this to test if the water is bad, if the water is bad even after a 80-90% water change then I am guess I have just lost the tank and will need to throw out the rock and sand and cleanse the tank.
So what do you think am I wrong for buying fish simply for the purpose to see if they die?
