Okay. I have 2 20 gallons tanks

Tank 1:
1 Blue Gourami
5 Cory Cats
7 Black Skirt Tetras
1 Small Pleco

This tank is overstocked as far as I can see. I do weekly 50% water changes with gravel vac.

Tank 2:

Originally I was going to put 2 Rams in here with a small school of Harlequin Rasboras....but in 3 shorts months I'm going to be moving to a new house..plus I'll be going away on 3 weeks vacation. So I don't think it'd be worth the investment to get new fish for the 2nd tank just yet. Instead I wanted to balance the load between the 2 tanks.

At the present moment Tank 2 has 1 Betta in it (was cycling the tank). Soo how should I split these fish up to create 2 tanks that aren't overstocked.

I was thinking for Tank 1:
1 Blue Gourami
7 Black Skirts

Tank 2:
1 Male Betta
5 Cory Cats
1 Small Pleco

Tank 2 has a piece of driftwood which I think the pleco would love. Blackskirts would tear into my betta I think. Gourami and a Betta together is a nono. Do you think this new set up would be appropriate?

Thanks Alot.

I'd split up the cories for sure. With all those fish in the first tank not much food has a chance to reach the bottom I imagine
