Just thought I'd do a quick survey. Was just browsing through the sticky and I saw 75-80 F, and I'm thinking I keep mine probably around 85 sometimes, hope I'm not shortening their lifespan or not keeping them overly happy with my temp up so high, in my experience with other fish higher temp = higher metabolism and therefore growth when they eat more, plus it keeps the bad stuff (ick) away. Temp is usually between 28-32 C for me, probably more commonly around the 29-30 range, so I just wanted to know what people keep theirs at and if there is reasoning behind it. Cheers.

81 constant, drops to around 75 during wc. I've never heard of rays catching ich before.

Think there's some negatives to keeping it higher? I'll temp gun it when I get home and adjust a bit I guess, I've never had issues.

I keep mine at 81 but the heat sensor and heating elements are in the sump so the tank may be a couple degrees cooler (at most). Especially when it's 10 degrees outside.

Around 78. I don't see the reason for keeping them at 85. Unless you have other fish that need it warm. Such as baby peacock bass.

I keep mine at 76.

I like it hot

86 all year round 24 hours a day 7 days per week

Some of my rays are over 7 years old now they feed better grow fast and breed like rabbits

We all do things different it's what works for you
