àdded a mattured female tötölfish (Sajica/con/spirulus) in with my 2.5 tex and they are showing interest. it was just an idea so i could see if the tex would show his papilae so i could vent him. and hes a male and strangely enough showing some interest,

i was just wondering, because the texas is male,
would the offspring be MORE texas, with some blue eyes and barring/red fins, or would they just look like slightly glossy spirulus?

any ideas?

lets wait and see.....

i was just wondering if anyones bred a texas male with a female convict or something and how much of the texas comes through:P so i can have rough estimates,
im new to hybridising i guess

I've never done it.

But love the Tötölfish...

Keep us posted, please

see thats not highly colourful but its still a great looking fish!
i think if they do pair up il have to keep some of the larger fry and grow them on =)

i like it kinda a smooth clean lookin texas

the tötölfish is in full breeding gear now, gold eyes, vertical bars, black belly etc
i dno wether the texas will breed as i think they need to be larger to breed, but the tötölfish females max at 4-5" so shes already breedable. shes about a year old lol
il let you know if theres any acction

is your tötölfish have any back generation breedings in it?

if it doesn't then my guess would be it will look alot like a texas.

a back cross with your tötölfish to one or more then one of the tötölfish lines, and then crossing it to a texas might give you more of what your looking for.

if no previous back breedings, thenthe genes of the tötölfish female are all jumbled up right now. back crossing strengthens her lines for future generations.
