What does everyone use for Intank uv's?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Hi,

Never used an in-tank UV...and i dont think I would ever try, as they would get covered in crap fast as they are passing unfiltered water over them.

I have always used inline UV filters that was the water they have going through them is as clean as possible, and i also have it flowing slow through the UV

3/4 of the output is going through the canister directly back to the spraybar, 1/4 is going through the UV (On the back wall) the into the tank.

I use GreenMachine from petsmart, works well IMO. 24w @ 100gph. Has a screen to keep debris out, has an indicator light on the12v adapter outside the tank for when it's operating correctly and bulbs last 4-6 months on average.

I have two 24W in my sump (after mechanical and bio filters). I think it works well as advertised and convenient to set up.

I totally agree with this, i dont run sump, but i do have my 40w after all mech and bio filtration on my canister!!

clean water with slow flow gives best results
