These look more TR than Xingu to me.

and these don't look like any TR I've seen.

and whoever got some Lacustris needs to post pics :)

Yup, the top ones are Flame Pikes, T-1's. He has them mislabeled.

The second batch is interesting in that if he simply has the names mixed up they came from the Xingu. Although they look like plain jane VZ's, VZ's do not come from the Xingu... possibly Xingu II's??

Oh, and where those lacustris went, you'll never see them again!! LOL

so the Lacs went to japan or just someone that's not on any forum? sucks to not get some good pics up.

They're here in the states... and now owned by a person that posts her occasionaly. They are just "photograpically challenged". Not that they are incapable of taking pics, they just don't! :grinno:

top ones look like xingu II and bottom look like sp. venezuala

Heres another hint....his name intials are C. S.....lol....He definately is Photographically challenged. Which really sucks cuz he has some awesome fish.

Definately agree on the IDing, I don't know how he managed to get the TR mixed up with the sp. 'venezuela/lugubris'...lol

I've had Crenicichla sp. 'xingu II' from weee little babies too practically adults (showing adult colors, but weren't full grown). They didn't look like the ones in his pictures. He may just need to get some more pictures though. The main thing is they had a humeral blotch behind the pectoral fins from the time they were little till they were adults. It never left. Plus they had bands pretty much like lenticulata down the back above the lateral line. Just two observations I've made.

Here are some links to some pictures of mine. They are fairly similar looking back on it. I need to look at Richs pictures again. Its possible they are xingu II, pretty sure they aren't xingu III though. Keep leaning strongly towards sp. 'venezuela/lugubris'. Perhaps a variant of one or the other? He DEFINATELY needs to take more pictures though!!

This is probably the best one for helping to ID them. Its a video of my xingu II challenging my lenticulata. Showed its best colors then...

You can really see the xingu II's colors in this thread. The last two pictures on the first page.

You gonna get some of the 'mystery' pikes Corey? :D Definately get some updates.

Btw...Vinny thinks they are probably sp. 'venezuela' as well, although he would love for someone to get them and prove him wrong...haha. $100 a pop is a lot to pay for a risk. I'd want some better pictures and a definate ID first before I payed that. Would suck if they turned out to be ven....lol...you just paid $100 for a sp. 'venezuela'....haha...ouch.
