This if a question for those of you who have built the truly large aquariums--big enough to need to get in the tank with a mask and snorkel to clean it.

What does it look like, to look out from inside an aquarium with a mask? Is it crystal clear out on dry land looking thru the glass?

I'm just wondering what my fish see. I have some small reef fish next to my desk; and they seem to be able to tell not only when I am moving around outside their tank--but when I pick up the jar of fishfood.

do you have windows in your house? look through them and you will find your answer :)

When a person is snorkeling, some things are magnified a little bit, but not truly a whole lot (e.g. not like looking thru a magnifying glass you hold in your hand). It is hardly noticable. Its the same for fish.

As far as clarity of their vision, it is pretty much like what you see of their world if you were snorkeling. Polished water clarity.

Moving around and when you pick up their container of fish food . . . well it's like they follow you with the hopes you will pay attention to them, a.k.a. is it feeding time we're hungry, feed us. Or they may think you might have a treat for them too. It's all conditioning training of you fish. They know you feed them. They know when you are around and they follow your movement, so it's not uncommon for them to think it's time to feed. If you talk to them and they come to the area of the tank where you are at when you talk to them, it's OK. It's all conditioning training of your fish.

Hope this helps.
