What does it mean when someone's profile shows... Usergroup: Banned

but i'll answer you anyways. any poster who is banned can no longer post on here. they either asked for the ban or violated the rules bad enough to get banned. depending on the severity of the offense they can get temporary banned or permanently banned.
when you see posts or threads from a user, those are their activity before the ban.

Umm, in response to your first statement...That would be no and no. Thank you for answering the question, but I have no idea what you are talking about? Did I PM you this question or ask that you personally answer this thread? I may have asked this question in the past and not followed up on the thread to see the response. Did you reply to this at some previous time? Sorry, I was just confused by what you wrote...But thanks...ya, I didn't notice that the OP who had been banned started the thread a few months ago and that someone contributed to that thread which bumped it up. I mistakenly assumed it was a new thread...my bad.
Also...When you say "asked for the ban" you don't literally mean they asked for the ban? Do you mean it in the context of "asked for the ban" as in "asking for trouble"? Just wondering, cause if not then like the previous poster asked, why would someone ask to be banned???
In general, MFK does not ban someone who requests to be banned. The onus of leaving the site voluntarily is left to the member who may leave by simply logging off the site. The member is welcome to return if he or she wishes to do so.
A member who has received a ban as punishment cannot post any further once banned. Their posts are left to maintain continuity of forum discussions. Any problematic posts/threads are either edited or deleted if the content goes against the TOS posting rules of the site.

was just messing with you dude. but I couldn't help but be suspicious that someone wouldn't know what a ban from any forums was.
and yes I meant literally asked for a ban. they rarely do it but I've seen people request to be banned and was granted. kind of odd of a member to do that really, and maybe attention seeking imo. if I had enough of a site I was a member of, i'd just simply leave and not come back

like if I was always just causing trouble here in the lounge but I was a legit fishkeeper and still contribute to fish related sections, I may just lose access to the lounge but can still get help or contribute to fish related things in other sections

Ahhh, haha...ok. Yeah, I was like, did I ask Sumo this already? I thought I was coming down with a case of the mini-alzheimers. All good, thanks for getting back to me. Sometimes it's hard to tell when someone is joking or being serious...but anyways, kinda crazy that someone would want the attention badly enough to ask to get banned. There is actually something called Histrionic personality disorder, could be they had that.
Since we are on the subject and you mentioned that someone could get partially banned, just out of plain curiosity...do you know what would there user group title would read?
