What does the gold username represent?

i was pondering about this for quite sometime. I understand that it means that the users are very important members that aren't here anymore (unfortunately). I'm just wondering what happened to them. Beblondie has been inactive ever since I join this site. I've been wondering for so long. I just had the guts to ask today. what happen to all these guys? Sorry if it's anything personal. Delete if it's inappropriate or something like that.

I think its to represent members that have passed away? Since one of the other members from before "R1_Ridah" also has a gold username and he sadly he passed away last year...

Unfortunately, some, we do not know a whole ot about what happened, just simply that they passed. As R1, Guppy, Beblondie... were such valuable contributions to this site, we felt it necessary to commemorate for what they meant to all of us.
