I'm looking for a type of small fish that eats green hair algae,I have ottos but they don't much care for it,I have tried Excel @ x2 & x3 the recommended dose and have had no luck getting rid of it,I'm having this problem in my tank with breeding Red Cherry Shrimp and do not want to try any chemicals,The only thing that I have found to do is go through every day with a toothbrush and pick it out what a PAIN,Any Suggestion would be great Thanks

barbs, cherry barbs, and rosy barbs in particular.. but don't think they're cherry shrimp safe =/ at least not baby safe. I use to keep a pair of long finned rosy barbs in my planted tank for this reason alone. the pair usually pestered each other and left everyone else alone, 'cept the hair algae which they loved. the long fins prevented them from getting overly nasty, but cherry barbs may be safer. tbh not sure.

I have a pair of cherry barbs in my big planted,Does any one know for sure, that they will not eat the baby shrimp

Yup I have tried up to 5 true SAE in my big tank but They seemed to get pretty aggressive during feeding and I didn't want to put them in my small nano because I didn't want them to eat all the baby shrimp, I don't recommend using the CAE because they don't eat algae and once they get mature they start to eat the slime coat off your other fish
