Hi guys,

My BGK is currently eating frozen blood worms. I want to give it variety so I got some freeze-dried tubifex worms, he didnt go for it. I did notice the owner at an LFS I got the knife from, was giving the knives some pellets.

At the time I didnt ask him, and I bought the frozen worms that he suggested. I dont know what kind of pellets those were but I want to get them. They seemed to sink as well, they didnt float like cichlid pellets.

Only 1 time I saw my Knife eat a guppy but it was by luck, the guppy was down by the bottom and my other fish was about to strike it when, the BGK lunged out of his hiding spot and grabbed it.

What are some known foods that BGKs will always accept? Mine wouldnt eat tubifex worms, so I dont want to experiment buying different foods and come to find out he wont eat any of it. Thanks

What size is it?
Mine eats tubifex cubes by omega one like a champ.
Some BGK's, most from what I have seen, eat on there own time in privacy.

What size is it? Mine is 11-12" and eats, river fish pellets (made by a local company), live shrimp, Delik-grand fish pellets, veg discs and pellets, cut up market shrimp basically anything that can fit in its mouth.

If yours is small try cut up earthworms, meaty pellets(broken up if they are too big) and granule foods. Also, if it is small, give it time to get used to the new foods. Mine is one of my easiet fish to care for.

Its about close to 6 inches I wanna say. I got it when it was 3 inches. He eats the frozen bloodworms like crazy, the minute I put it in the tank he comes at and gets it and gobbles it up fast. I think I may try some sinking pellets, but I really hope he will eat it. Atleast I can feed the tubifex worms to the feeder fish, they eat it.

My BGK loves the sinking pellets I buy for the Cories. I will sprinkle 6-7 of the pellets into the tank and he will zoom around trying to catch them.

He really has not refused any food I offered. Some he is more excited about but he always eats.
