i gota male texas almost adult in a 75 with a emporer 400 filter and a jebo 838 canister i was wondering if i can put a 4inch bichir in with him my texas is a shortbody so his not that big or what would u guys put with him

Personally I would just keep the texas alone in a 75 gallon. They get pretty big and are very aggressive and need lots of territory.

I don't know anything about Short body Texas, but I would assume that they don't grow nearly as large as a regular Tex. If you provide places for the bichir to have cover, I think the two of them would be fine together. It depends on the aggressiveness of the Tex and the species of Bichir that you want too.

You have adequate filtration, Go for it.
Be prepared to return it if the Tex gets nasty.
A pleco or a small bichir should be fine. Id suggest a rock cave too that only he can fit in incase he needs to hide from the tex.

ima go for it the texas only gets nasty when it feels like the other fish might take over i dont think the bichir wants to do that ill get him a nice cave and is der a type of graval i need for the bichir

I personally wouldnt put a short body texas (hybrid?)in with a Bichir. Bichirs are passive and docile, and hybrids are 99.9% of the time aggressive and will kill the bichir...especially in a 75.

Bichirs need sand over gravel.

Not a good idea. A Midas can own a 75gal. (and bigger) by itself. Putting a Midas in a 75 with any other aggressive or large growing cichlid is really asking for trouble. Add some Tetras or barbs if you want more movement.
