so ive had my wet dry runnin for a few weeks now.. in the sump i have a bunch of bio balls and a sheet of filter stuff.. what else are you suppose to put in the sumps? cuz i kno for canisters they offer all kinds of media. how can i improve my filtration with bio media in my sump?

you could do lava rock or plastic scrubbies for bio media instead.
the lava has more surface area and the scrubbies are cheap and disposable if they get too gunked up.

Lava rocks don't have very good surface area. Nylon scrubbies are about the best bang for your buck. If you have the money, get cell-pore.

Are you wanting mechanical or more bio-filtering?

You got it backwards...scrubbies have more suface area and are washable, lava rock doesn't and can't be (reasonably).
