I have an NGT that I probably had for 4 months maybe 5. It hasn't eaten anything!!! It still remained as a 2" juvenile just like when I first got it from jlnguyen (you still remember john?) I bought 2 and the other one already died 3 weeks ago from starvation most likely. I have tried every single kind of food to feed it. I tried feeders, frozen food (anchovies), dry foods (pellets/sticks), and freeze dried food (krill/shrimp) but still no bite...

Its 100% stable but I'm feeling sorry for the little guy... He's a stunner, a very skinny stunner.

Any suggestions with regards to other food that I can try to feed it?

:( When I first got them, I started them off with frozen blood worms, then with market shrimp that I cut into small pieces, which is what they ate by the time I sold them. I noticed NGT is shy, and I had 10 of them in a 29 gallons tank at the time, with some plastic plant to hide, so that may be the factor make them getting acclimate with the surrounding.

That seems too long for such a small fish to go without eating, is it possible he is eating after the lights go out? i would think he would need even a minimal amount of nutrition to be alive for 4-5 months.

try boold worm all NGT love it

I would also suggest blood worms at that size.

Are you guys talking about frozen blood worms? The one in cubes? Because I already tried that and still no bite. I literally wasted a 60 piece small tub of frozen blood worms a couple of months ago. He barely shows any attention to food. John, he is very stable though. Bright yellow as can be. He barely hide as well. He's always swimming around but man is he skinny. I think he's 2.5" not including the fins. Check out the skinny guy below:

Agreed...this was going to be my contribution but Richard beat me to it. :D

My small NGT did the same thing. I put some of my NTTs and ITs in that tank with him and now he has fattened right up.

One other suggestion; try feeding with the lights out and withought moving the hood. As soon as I made any movements, my NGT would bolt and not eat. I ended up cutting a small hole in the hood where I could fit food through without disturbing the tank...that has worked like a charm. Now he's to the point where he goes to the feeding hole and begs for his food.

Best of luck, he's a beautiful NGT.

My small 2.5-3" NGT hasn't eaten for 2 weeks. It happily eats frozen bloodworm but I'm trying to get it on market prawn and lancefish like my other fish-it just isn't growing on the bloodworm.
Not too sure of this 'monkey see..eats' businnes-the NTT's in the tank and Silver Tiger devour the shrimp.
