I have a 55g with 5 senegal bichirs who seem to all get along just fine, but dont know what else i could keep in the tank.... what do you all suggest?

5 segs in a 55 your overstocked allready now thats said i would go with angels im overstocked too angels work for me

I think the oscar would outgrow the polys and eat the smaller ones. I've had good luck with my 8 inch senegal housed with a jack dempsey, green terror, green severum and carpinte/texas cichlid. Given the slow growth rate of senegals you just have to be careful what you put in with them. All of my cichlids have gorwn about 5 times their original size in the last 4 months while my senegal grew about half an inch lol.
Yes, and when they hit that six inch mark and are only an inch in diameter and slow down to about 2 inches a year the oscar is still going strong at almost 2 inches a month and after 4 months or so could easily swallow a 6 inch or possibly larger senegal. I'm just speaking from personal experience heer. I tried my 8 inch senegal with a 10 inch oscar and had to seperate within minutes.
yea i bought one of my senegals at just about 2"s and within 6weeks was up to 6"s and about the width of a hot dog.... now he has slowed down a bit. Well im returning about 11fish 2marrow and trading for some other ones, ill see what i can come up with. if nothing i have 5 african cichlids i could turn it into a nice african tank..... senegals are african fish correct?
