Sounds like an eheim 2260 or 2262 maybe. Pic would help quite a bit.

It's at my local pet shop I'll ave to get one when I go back. If u can imagine a large green bucket twice as tall as a fx5 but the same diameter then on the top it has the screw fastenings but the lid looks like a normal bucket lid with a little platform on the top with a eheim pump feeding the water into the top then on the bottom on the side it has the out pipe. I'll try find pics online aswell

Probably a 2260 or 2262, it just doesn't have the gray cover over the top of the pump. If it is one of those models, the suction/intake is at the bottom of the canister and the pressure/output is from the pump on top.
