What filter media do you use in your filters?

Ceramic rings, coarse sponge, gravel type media, magnavore's PURA Amazon, filter floss.

I highly recommend the PURA Amazon media for soft water species. I've been using this stuff for years with great results. I introduced the product to a friend, and he now uses it on almost all of his setups.

bio max, purgin, pond matrix, sponges, sponge pre filters, glass beads, verious filter pads, and filter socks,

Purigen, chemipure elite, lava rock, biomax, matrix, pot scrubbers.

In my xp3 I have the 30 and 20 pads that come with it, biomax, purigen, chemipure elite, a microfiltration pad, a super microfiltration pad, a 50 micron filter pad, and an 18 watt uv sterilizer on a 55 gallon tank. The water is amazingly clear, but I doubt I really need all that to make it that way. I'm guessing it's probably my healthiest tank with all that help.

All my other filters/tanks I run the standard filter pads, some combination of biomedia, purigen, and a fine filter pad.

4ft = Different sponge sizes/material, ceramic rings, bio balls, carbon, plastic drainage mesh between each layer and filter wool.
2ft = Same + Peat moss because our town water is so alkaline.
