What filters for a 38 long tank?

I currently am running one AC50, have a jack Dempsey, green terror, firemouth, danio, and a Picts. Yeah I know over stocked, they are all still tiny though and they will be regimes when necessary. Is that one filter enough or what should add? I was thinking a canister? any input would be nice.

Run the ac50 with a fx5....just kidding. Fluval 405/406 or Rena xp4 along the ac50 would be good. Your going to need to upgrade tanks anyways so why not get a filter that will be able to handle a larger tank.

Edit: ac110 would be a budget friendly option too.
