What fish is this? ID PLEASE?

Hey all,

I picked up a mystery cichlid at our lfs (they had no idea what he was). The pictures aren't totally true to his coloring.

Sometimes he's yellow, with dark stripes and his fins are reddish. Other times (moods) he's almost completely dark reddish/brown and don't see stripes at all! He behaves kind of like an Oscar (i.e. the floating around, the laying on side 'moping' etc.) and isn't very aggressive. Still just a juvie (maybe 3-3.5").

Any ideas???

Hypselecara temporalis or a Chocolate, very personable fish... a lot like an oscar gets about 12"...

That's the closest we've seen to a match, as the coloring is almost EXACT!

However, the face shape is very different than the pics I saw of Chocolates. Maybe a Choc hybrid?

Nah, Its just because its a baby as it matures it will thicken up. Interesting fish nice pick up!
