I was just on Amazon buying Super veggie pellets for my new world cichlids because atm all they are getting is hikari cichlid gold and there becoming bloated from all the protein and no veggies so I figured these pellets would help their digestion ? 2 Questions, 1, How often should I feed each pellet. Would Hikari gold in the morning and super veggie pellets at night work? Also in the description of the pellet this fish was pictured, what is it? I need it! Looks like a blue ram on STEROIDS 3E33B101-DF21-488C-BD43-E30A50E57817.png

Might be a red ram. But one of the dozens of variations of rams, definitely. With some adjustment of the color levels/contrast etc.

That’s what I thought. As for the food. How often do I need to feed the veggie pellets instead of the hikari cichlid gold? They currently are fed it twice a day along with occasional flakes or sinking shrimp pellets they snag which i put it for my cory cats.

To be honest, I have no idea. All my cichla and cichlids have never had a problem with one high protein pellet meal or market shrimp. If your having issues with Hikari Bio Gold, I might just suggest you switch to another food thats higher quality rather than juggling two. Because, in the wild S/A and New World cichlids dont seek out vegetation from my knowledge or at least not commonly. I can recommend Omega One Cichlid pellets as a good staple food that will have your fish growing fast and healthy. I think you may be thinking of African Cichlids when you are planning on adding vegetation to their diet.

Ah, okay. Like I said I hadn't heard of it but the more I think about it the more it makes sense. Regardless, I think most high endcichlid style food is meant to meet all their dietary needs so consider looking into other brands.
