im looking to add some or one fish to my 75. right now i have a oscar, firemouth, pictus cat and a pbass. pbass is a grow out. you guys think i could add any fish or do you think im stocked. i was thinking about getting a JD but im not sure or maybe some SDs. what do you think?

would or wouldnt be a good idea? im going to sell or keep then. i want to keep them if my parent will let me get a bigger tank or a pond

It depends on the sizes of the fish. When full grown that Oscar will be a big bioload. Also, I think the oscar might decide to own that Firemouth when it gets bigger. Also comes into question what you have available to move fish to if bioload or aggression issues come into play.

you make a good point. i dont really have any where to put the fish if aggression breaks out. maybe if i get a pond or larger tank i can move some fish and think about adding new ones, but then ill have to wait for my fish to grow. that will also make my tank look more stocked. thanks for the input.

Back in the old days firemouths where a first pick for oscar mates. With a school of firemouths and an oscar. If the tank was big enough a pair of oscars with them. When raised together this was an awesome combo. With good water maintance firemouths can and will grow out to about 7 inches and have an attitute to match. They are also quite stunning when mature. Very few people can raise really nice firemouths to adulthood. Its the kind of work that should go into keeping very expensive cichlids.

When that oscars grown it's going to need that tank to itself. You might be able to get away with that firemouth in there too but I wouldn't add anything.
