What fish to get

Hello,

I am looking for one more addition to my aquarium. Current fish in the tank are:

Jack Dempsey
Blood Parrot Fish

Both are very calm natured for whatever reason and even tend to swim together.

I would prefer to keep the tank at no more than three fish, but would not mind a fourth if appropriate combinations come up. They are both young currently (handful of months) so I'd like to get something that can perhaps grow with them and get used to having them as tank mates rather than consistent fighting (though I understand it is expected with Cichlids).

It's a temp tank until December/January (whenever they call first) when I move into my apartment. It's a 36G tank and planning to move to either 75 or 100 right after the move.

Birchir huh? Haven't heard of that. Going to look into it.
 
I had to get rid of my jack dempsey because it started to beat up my oscar, my tank was rather small though....30 gallon

ok i would try to get the biggest possible tank when you upgrade
yeah a senegalus bichir would be a good suggestion

Thank you for the input! :) It's much appreciated. And yeah, I plan to. With the fish being so small though currently (I'd say the dempsey is no larger than 2.5-3 inches in length) I just feel as though for the safety of the tank and how hard it would be to empty and move, it's just better to hold onto the 36 for a couple more months.
