what fish would you suggest for 300lotre bichir setup

i search some not so shy but also calm fish for the medium waterzone of my bichir setup to make it more lively. What can you suggest? It should not anger the polys and it should not be eaten.

Could do a school of large Congo tetras, might still be on the menu though. IMO buy a 300g tank and get more Polys and an African arrowana
