What food is the best

Wondering what brand of food would promote the best health in my clown loaches ? Any input would be greatly appreciated thanks

Hikari would be my first choice. The only other brands I would give my loach would be tetra and omega one.

Try NLS Thera-A 1-2mm depending on the size of your clowns and some NLS wafers once in a while (the wafers have a habit of clouding up the water for a bit).

A good brand of pellets and freeze dried foods include bloodworms, small krills and earthworms.

Also, color of the clowns are not entirely based on food...Lack of stress, quality of stock also contributes heavily to their color.

NLS already contains spirulina, along with an algae meal that is comprised of seaweed, kelp, and several micro-algae. Adding even more spirulina to the diet of a clown loach isn't going to gain anything.

Also, color of the clowns are not entirely based on food...Lack of stress, quality of stock also contributes heavily to their color.

Correct, although quality of stock is pretty even steven across the board, as almost all CL's in the hobby are collected from the same area. The only real difference is between those loaches collected in Kalimantan, and those collected in Sumatra.
