When it comes to chum in the water, its black worm cubes. My fish go completely bananas, banging off each other and fighting like kids over candy. Hierarchy disappears, its first come first serve...:nilly:

I press the cubes against the glass. While the parrot, severum and chocolate are fighting over the cubes my O calmly swims over, gulps them whole then saunters off ? worms go flying everywhere and its frenzy trying to grab all the floaters. The Choc grabs whole cubes but can't hold them, so the severum snatches them from his lips. Then the parrot rams everybody, knocking chunks of worms loose that he can grab. Straight up crazy!

In their separate tanks Patch attacks her cubes like a shark, shaking and shredding everything before eating chunks. Kong eats them off the glass, slurping them down. Haven't tried them with Tango yet.

Mealworms are a close second. It's grab, gulp n' go. My Oscar sticks his head out of the water and opens wide, waiting for me to pack them in his gob. ?

I don't overfeed as a rule, and i throw in a weekly fasting day too. Better for the health of my tank, and my fish. So my fish are usually always hungry and everything gets nailed, and fast.

Though if I had to pick a food which they seem to go crazy for more than any other I think i'd have to say earthworms. I throw a big handful of washed worms in once per week and they get destroyed. Oh, and my RTGG currently has a bit of an addiction to strawberries.

Do you give strawberries with or without the leafy part on top?

I just throw a load of strawberries in a bowl with a big dollop of vanilla ice cream and then dump the lot in the tank!

Joking :grinno:

He'll manage big chunks of food quite easily but the mess is horrendous. I've found if I cut fruit and veg up into smaller portions he can almost swallow whole. So the strawberries get their caps sliced off and then quartered.
