What gar should i get for these tank mates?

Hi

I really want a gar but not sure what gar could go with 3x sengal bichirs 3x silver dollars and 1x peacock eel. My issue is the peacock eel cuz he is around 7" and not sure if a gar might eat him. If any one has any sugestions let me know cuz i know a gar would do good with the bichirs and the silver dollars...not sure with the peacock eel.

thanks anyone else agrees? i dont live in cali so dont worry i just put that. Anyone else agrees with florida gar are you sure it wont eat my peacock eel?

you should do a search, it would give you all the answers you need. like get a florida for a starter gar, which would be fine with your senegal bichirs, but will eat your eel, and most likely tear your dollars up.

no. any gar will quickly outgrow a 7" eel and eat it.

i'd go with a florida they get smaller and if it is well feed you could CHANCE it. just have a back up tank for one or the other. people say oscar/ eel combos aren't good....i myself had a fire eel with a oscar for a while until my eel died not killed or eatten CHOKED to death. if you do try it just be prepard for the worse. as for the silver dollars my gar is with 3 balas@ 5.5", 7 redtail tinfoils@ 5.5", 1 silver aro@ 15", 1 pleco@ 12", 1 jd@ 10", 1 yellow bullhead@ 4" and my gar is 10" no problems.
