What gar type would do the best in a setup with a silver aro, a clown knife, maybe a pacu, and maybe a pbass? All would be introduced around the same size.

I had a florida gar with my two aros back in the eighties. The arowanas were eventually huge, and the gar got big also. I found them to be the ideal tank mate for arowanas as they are generally very calm. I just started a new arowana tank. Got three arowanas, about 9 inchs now. I just about a week ago or less bought an aligator gar. It seems to be going very well. the gar is 6 inchs or so. MY problem is, How long am I going to be able to keep this thing before it gets too big? "why do I do this to myself?"
