What geophagus is this?

I maybe trying to bring these guys in the sell in my shop. But somehow do not know what strain of Eartheater it is. Do you guys think its the works of crossbreeding?

Here is an interesting article with a pic of a Tapajos and some information on the different species/subspecies. Incidentally, the picture looks almost exactly like your fish.

I'm a little confused... Isn't the surinamensis the species and Tapajos is a subspecies or location specific fish that is more or less undescribed? I really should be more up on these things :nilly: I sure would like to take a trip down there to go collecting.
 
I beleive surinamensis is a complex of Geophagus, like the "Brasiliensis complex". It does include the true G. surinamensis though. But the "Surinamensis complex" is one of the most confusing of all Geophagus becuase of the amount of different species/collection areas.
