I've placed an order for a new tank which measures 78"X24"X30", and they want to know what thickness glass i want. I know that the base wants to be thicker, so i'm thinking 20mm for that, but i don't know whether to use 10mm or 12mm for the rest.
Another thing i'm looking for opinions on is starfire/low iron glass, i asked for the front panel to be made out of this stuff and boy is it expensive. For the front panel it would be another £247/$377 when a standard tank would cost £486/$743. Also i've read that it scratches easily a bit like acrylic. So what im asking is, is it really worth the extra money.

Also, forgot to reply for the starphire.

It is fantastic stuff!!!! Scratches same as plain float (my experiences anyway),,,
and worth the price??? Thats for you to decide,,,,any other tank i build in the future will be in starphire!

For an example, my tank has a front starphire panel and plain float rear. HUGE difference!!! Worth the money!!

Will try to get you a link.
