Does anyone know why rtcs eat rocks? They dont pass the rocks so they just eat them carry them around for a bit then spit them out. What gives

Maybe it feels good to lift the rocks and have something heavy in their mouths? Kind of like the natural want to work out....

The first time Mang (my RTC) starts craving roids and a set of Fin-barbells, I'm transferring him into a steel box before he flex's and breaks through the glass.

actually they do it to help with digestion...kind of like a natural ant-acid... add some fruit into their diet and they will usually leave the stones alone...unless they are getting the stones by mistake when they are eatting their regular food that is! lol

My 3' rtc x tsn ate two large rocks that weighed about 1/2 lbs a piece before and carried them around for 2 months. He got them accidentally eating another fish. He continued to eat the whole time but you could see the rocks sagging in his belly. I fed him a bunch of worms one night and he passed them and a big gooey mess back up.
