so i made a sump and i set it up yesterday and i woke up this morning and everything was dirty im using pot scrubbies eheim efilav and sofilter floss....i washed everything how come its so dirty i did a water change and it was alittle better any ideas

no i washed it like you do sand until it ran clear on all of the media and stir it all up and the sump is all clean no dust or build up or anythinkg?
tanins, BB from moving the media around, food, dust from the efilav....
if you say no... then theres only one other option....

If it is a new filter and the tank has fish in it then check all the water parameters. It could be ammonia build up and a bacterial bloom.
my tank has been running for like 4 months now with an fx5 and all the water parameters are fine but it is slowly getting better...thanks
