What happends if fish eats silicone?

I know as silicone cures, it can leach toxic chemicals.....But I have no idea about the effects of a fish eating cured silicone.

I'm interested to hear opinions on this as well.

I'd speculate that as long as it doesn't choke on it, get it stuck in it's digestive tract (malawi's I'm looking at you), and it's not a regular occurance, it's fairly harmless.

My guess is the same as what happens when people swallow gum. It passes through the digestive tract without causing any harm, and is passed on as regular waste. Gum; like silicone is composed of many synthetic rubbers/plastics, it isn't digested. Shouldn't pose any serious problems.. hopefully.

Probably crap it out. My goldfish eat the sand as they sift through it. They spit it out but I see it in the crap though so some of it gets through. Fish dont have very complex digestive tracts so it wont be in them long enough to cause any significant harm...just watch for it, so to speak.
