I've had these hysterix for about 6 months and they have learned to eat everything , now about a month after I added my male Leo he has the this huge injury, the other hysterix is fine and so is the motoro. I m now doing daily 40 gallon water changes and the hurt ray is still eating worms only , I've noticed all of a sudden how skinny his tail got , ugh . I'm adding salt to the make up water and hoping for the best, it doesn't look like a bite? To me.

OMG!!!
full tank shot of that tank? Something he coils have got cut on?
Possible heater burn???
If he is still eating then just keep water clean.
Unless the ray has been picking on it, a ray don't usually cause that much damage off one bite

Either the 14" Leo or the female Motoro as done this ...no question!...my money is on the Leopoldi. Your Leo is coming up to sexual maturity and will have decided he doesn't want another male in there however small, never under estimate what damage a rays mouth parts can do when they mean it, once clamped on they can inflict a wound like this easily with a single bite, it will have literally tore that off in one!
Sadly that wound has intruded into the muscle tissue so don't expect the disc to return to its former glory,my guess is it will always show signs of where it happened.
You will probably have to take him out ultimately but for now he is best where he is whilst he heals up, you need a partition for him, other fish will nibble a would like that also.
Good luck!
