The common pleco can sit in one place for hours at a time. That goes for most fish. My question is are you over scrubbing your tank?. Not having much to clean up will keep your pleco in one area mainly. Sometimes I have to move my large cave rock, because mine is in there too long.
Yes brother he was very active
Everytime he is on a wood etc I saw fins flared and body stiff
Now he is not even able to stick to sides
Constantly drops down when he tries
Just sitting in the bottom like for 10 hours

I thought he might be hungry coz he was looking skinny I fed him on cucumber
But he didn't eat them properly like he used to destroy cucumbers

Sometimes unfortunately we purchase fish without knowing the age unless they are small fry.
Cucumber is nutrient poor from my understanding you might try zucchini
