Hey fellow pleco enthusiast in California, anyone know what happened to Recumbent? I was just wondering because he had one of the most impressive pleco collection that I know of. I know he had a group of LDA105's that he was growing and I was wondering the progress of them.

Anyways hope he is well and enjoying his retirement.

He moved out of San Diego. Not sure where to. I believe Northwest.

But why he quit cold turkey sold everything that he work so hard to accomplish. Hope he’s well dude was on another level in plecos keeping.

Another great one to disappear. Even though my 100+ pleco collection is gone. I still come here and admire others.

I wasn't aware that you had that many placs before.

I think I topped off at 104(at one time) with about 50 being different. Had 26 tanks running in my house. Even had them in my bathroom. I was spending 4 hours a day on taking care of them.

Edit: Misread your post. Right now just a L001. 1 tank with fish and 1 empty(running).

Oh my goodness, I couldn't even remember them all. I did go around counting one day and that's what I got. Alot of them were common names as the L system didn't exist back then(early to mid 90's).

Right off the top of my head. There's a few I can tell you I didn't have. Sunshine pleco(L014), Pineapple(L095), Three Beacon pleco(L091?)

The rarest I had was a Zucchini pleco( Can't find these anywhere nowdays. And only saw 3 or 4 back then)

I had about 5 tanks max, biggest at 120... Now that i have the space i decided to go 240 and 120, Two is enough. I agree, it takes a lot of time. I wish i could just have a pond. I probably have 25 plecos not counting the common BNs

Anyways I hope Recumbent is doing good. He definitely had one of the best collection i ever heard of or at least from his posts here.
