What happens when a fish loses his slim

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Remove the pleco, they are known to suck on the slime coat of fish. My rtc lost some of it's slime coat a while back, its no big deal, just keep your water clean and maybe add some salt.

Edit: What do you mean by floating and breathing?

Remove the damn pleco asap. Once it gets the vice of slime sucking, it won't loose i.

Salt and catfish don't mix well. Up the temps, put in some Melafix and aerate.

A fishes slime coat helps prevent disease, fungas and parasites from entering its body, and helps with osmoregulation.
If your pleco has taken to eating the slime coat, as stated above, its time to get rid of the pleco..
