For those that dont beleive that a pair of platy in a 10g will overtake the tank quick, here ya go: this took less than 6 months or so. It was 3 palties in the tank 1 male 2 females. Not my tank! so take the advice of mfkers when u ask for stocking advice ;)

Ha! That's why I got all females when I got my Platys. They can store sperm for up to 6 months and basically impregnate themselves during that time but none of mine ever did have babies. They were in a community tank so possibly the fry got eaten if they did.

whats worse is that as u can see in the pic this person actually keeps trying to save fry  next time i go there im going with a net and fish bags. "where did the babies go?" "babies...?"

1 male and 2 females. After 3 months we had the original three plus. 54 fry. Actual numbers because we had to split up the fry over christmas. 53 of these fish survived the break in Chicago, Pittsburgh, Louisville and NYC to make it back into our tank at Notre Dame.

yes they breed like crazy. its funny cuase most newb dont believe when they say the fry will take over the tank so i made this post as proof. lol

Perfect feeder tank! :D
